Description

Miraseal X is a solvent based clear colour-enhancing impregnating sealer designed primarily for honed concrete and other porous concrete and mineral substrates.

The penetrating formulation impregnates the substrate to enhance its natural colour while helping protect against water, oil and common staining substances. Composed of a blend of alkali stable siloxane-resin in an acrylic resin solution, Miraseal X imparts a naturally enhanced appearance without forming a heavy surface film.

The product is non-yellowing, UV stable, and typically has less impact on surface slip characteristics than conventional film-forming acrylic sealers. Particularly suited to honed concrete finishes, Miraseal X penetrates into the pore structure to provide colour enhancement and protection while maintaining the natural surface character.

An excellent choice for honed concrete, external pavements, exposed architectural concrete, and natural or artificial stone.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

Ensure substrate is clean, dust and stain free prior to application. Clean the surface to remove any dirt, laitance, previous coatings or curing agents that may prevent penetration of the material.

The surface must be dry and thoroughly cured prior to application.

It is recommended to undertake a test sample to confirm the suitability of the product for specific substrates and ensure desired results are achieved.

Application Method

Slowly stir the material until thoroughly mixed; Two coats of the product should be applied to achieve a consistent, enhanced appearance with a wet-look. The properties of the substrate such as porosity and profile will greatly influence the number of coats required.

Application may be via solvent resistant low-pressure sprayer fitted with an adjustable spray tip, microfibre mop or natural hair applicator.

Spray apply the product and use a soft, lint-free cloth or microfibre mop to spread any excess product to achieve a thin uniform layer, ensuring no pooling or mop marks. It is important to evenly spread material to prevent inconsistencies in the enhancement. The product must be applied in consecutive coats on the same day once each coat has dried. The applicator pad should be pre-moistened with Miraseal X prior to use.
