Description

The Aardcure WAX DB Water based curing compound is a wax-based, spray-able, debonding agent for freshly laid concrete or formwork. It is a low to medium viscosity, white pigmented emulsion of specially blended waxes. Easy to apply, and prevents adhesion between concrete or formwork.

USES:
• Debonding agent when applied to the concrete sub-base prior to pouring the concrete base.
• Debonding agent for concrete formwork.
• Allows the two layers to expand and contract differentially without producing cracking.

Application Instructions

Surface Application

Areas to be treated must be clean and dry.

Assess the application area so that a fixed volume of mixed material can be applied over a fixed area to determine the correct application rate. Agitate the material until thoroughly mixed to ensure effective curing properties.

Aardcure WAX DB can be easily sprayed with most common spray equipment including bitumen emulsion sprayers. (Requires a minimum pressure of 280kpa (40psi). Spray at a sufficient rate to achieve consistent coverage.

Aardcure DB Wax performs best when one complete coat is applied, until a continuous uniform film is achieved. A short nap roller can also be used for smaller applications.

Curing Time

Drying time is dependent on the temperature. The sealer is usually dry in 1-3 hours at 25˚C. Accessible to foot traffic when dry and vehicle traffic after a minimum of 24 hours.

Estimated Data

Coverage for a single coat application is 100m2 per 20 litre drum.

The properties of the substrate such as porosity and profile will influence the coverage rate and number of coats required.
